Along time age, when couples started going out they usually married after a time. Before it was more usual for couples to get married than not. Also the majority of people got married in church because people were religious and they didn't believe in divorce, because of this always they got married.
Nowadays, people get married because they like to but it isn't very important for them. Also, I think that there aren't a lot of people who get married in church because nowadays weddings are more modern like, on the beach, in places specially for weddings, in summer in the open air...
In my opinion, I think that all kinds of women would like this types of wedding, because it's very romantic and pretty.
However, I think that nowadays couples prefer not to get married because there are a lot of inconveniences. One of these inconveniences is that when they want to separate it's more difficult and expansive than if they are not married. Morever, the other inconveniences that getting married is very expensive, especially if you go to a restaurant with all the family.
